Perhaps you think the only people who become superheroes are alienated teens (like Peter Parker in SPIDER-MAN) or sullen but elegant billionaires (like Bruce Wayne in BATMAN). Not so, says IRON MAN, which tells the story of carefree industrialist/playboy Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.), who wears his nickname “the merchant of death” as a badge of honor.

Turning this unrepentant good-time guy around requires a major crisis, and that’s what happens when Stark makes a trip to Afghanistan to tout his new missile system known as the Jericho, a wonderfully ironic name since Stark’s world will soon be tumbling down….more about the article
